Act against black marketers
5/8/2021 12:12:52 AM
The government recently put the oxy-meters and oxygen concentrators in the list of essential medicines due to the alarming rise in the COVID-19 cases across the country. The government’s decision is a step towards the right direction as prices of both these items have skyrocketed during the past few days.
The oxygen concentrators have disappeared from the market and oxy meters too have become expensive. Both these items are must to fight the raging pandemic. The government needs to fix the price of the concentrators so that black marketers don’t use it as an opportunity to loot the gullible people who are fighting COVID within their homes with the help of these concentrators.
This is not the time to earn more money or extra bucks. The people dealing with the equipment meant to handle the COVID should bear in mind that they have to help the people and not add to their miseries by indulging in such tactics that could become a blot on the entire humanity.
According to the media reports the J&K government has seemingly admitted the paucity of resources even in the health sector to fight COVID-19 in Jammu region. Under these given circumstances if the equipment meant to heal the patients go out of reach, this will aggravate the crisis.
The second wave has ripped Jammu apart as people are dying due to COVID-19 taking a heavy toll on everyone. Any of us can get infected and we are passing through a difficult time. We have to extend a helping hand to each other rather than trying to exploit each other.
Many houses in Jammu region have turned into the COVID care centers as people are trying to manage their kith and kin on their own. People are setting an example by fighting the COVID-19. But a few miscreants are out to defame the entire Jammu region. Till date people of Jammu have fought COVID-19 valiantly and have set an example. Time is tough but we are sure that we will come out of it and defeat the virus. But we cannot become complacent and have to ensure that we don’t indulge in illegal profiteering and hoarding. This time will also pass and darkness won’t remain there forever. The dawn will break but till then we have to be patient and take extra precautions. The government has to ensure that miscreants are identified and dealt as per law.
