Webinar held to commemorate World Red Cross Day

Jammu, May 10: Red Cross Club of Govt. PG College for women, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu organised a webinar to commemorate World Red Cross Day on 8th May under the banner of Azaadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.
Sangita Nagari, Principal of the college and patron of the programme declared the webinar open and welcomed the gathering virtually. She stressed that everyone must come forward to work for the society especially in Covid-19 pandemic period.
Kewal Krishan Wadhera, social activist and life member Red Cross Society was the resource person of the webinar. He delivered a talk on the topic- 'Covid-19 and Environmental Sustainability'. He explained about the role of Red Cross Club in upliftment of society. He said that we must keep our surroundings clean. We should not use polythene bags and should make carry bags of our own from waste old clothes. Everyone must emphasise on cleanliness and should stress on Swachhta to make our mother earth clean.
In this pandemic period, we should listen to music, should eat healthy diet, and must practice good hygiene. He stressed on yoga, exercise and physical as well as mental fitness. Nearly 100 students actively participated in this webinar.
Revika Arora, Convenor, Red Cross Club conducted the proceedings. Ashok Kumar was the technical host and Eisha Gohil presented formal vote of thanks.
