DC Ramban visits Gool SD to check enforcement of corona curfew

RAMBAN, May 11: Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam, Tuesday visited Gool and Sangaldan blocks to obtain first-hand appraisal about enforcement of Covid control measures, including corona curfew and vaccination drive.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Harbans Lal, SDM Gool, Gias-ul-Haq, Tehsildar, Gool, Nisaq ul Farooq, and other senior officers were also present on the occasion.
During the visit, the DC called upon people to stay indoors and ensure that the corona curfew is implemented in letter and spirit. He also passed directions to the Sub Divisional Administration to see that no violations take place during the period of corona curfew till May 17.
The Deputy Commissioner visited Health & Wellness Centres at Kanga, Haroog, besides CHC Gool and PHC Sangaldan. He interacted with the staff on duty and enquired about the pace of vaccination drives.
At Gool, the Block Medical Officer, Dr. Bashir Ahmad, briefed the DC about the Covid management efforts including RTPCR & RAT testing, contact tracing and distribution of covid management kits amongst the home-isolating Covid positive patients.
The DC called upon those who had come to take their doses to motivate others to take their jabs to save themselves from the threat posed by the second Covid surge. He also passed directions to Chief Medical Officers to provide PPE kits, gloves, masks and sanitizers so that they are able to perform their duties in a safe and secure manner.
Reiterating the ‘stay-indoors’ advisory, the District Administration also inspected the implementation of corona curfew on Ramban-Sangaldan-Gool stretch and warned the people to not venture out unnecessarily, keeping in view the Covid-19 infection, which has steadily risen in the district. People were urged to adhere to Covid appropriate behaviour like wearing of masks, washing hands and staying at least two metre apart.
