23 COVID cases reported from Palmar, 5 habitations declared Red Zones, Chingam also among Red Zone

Kishtwar, May 11: Following massive surge in COVID 19 cases, District Administration Kishtwar today declared almost half of Palmar block as micro containment zones and imposed strict lockdown measures in the micro containment zones beside also launched 100% COVID testing in the effected areas.
As per the details available with Early Times, after declaring Sigdi and Mulchiter areas of Mughal Maidan Tehsil as micro containment zones, DC Kishtwar today declared five inhabitations of Palmar block as micro containment zones.
As per the order issued by DC Kishtwar, the micro containment zones in Palmar block are from House of Khushi Mohammad to the house of Abdul Rashid Sheikh (Suzna), from House of Jabar Singh to the house of Roshan Lal Parihar (Sonabhata) , from house of Vijay Kumar to the house of Subash Parihar (Chewar), from House of Janak Singh to main road lower Razna and from House of Mushtaq Ahmed Shah to house of Syed Altaf Hussain (Patimhala main market).
Beside Palmar, Chingam area of Chatroo Tehsil has also been declared as micro containment zones.
The official sources told the Early Times that 23 COVID positive cases reported from Palmar area in last 24 hours while as many as 35 COVID positive cases were reported in last 10 days from Palmar area while 15 cases were reported from Sigdi and Mulchiter areas in last 24 hours.
The sources said that majority of the cases were reported from a marriage ceremony held at Palmar where the virus probably came from a person with travel history from Delhi. The sources said that the local post master also tested positive for COVID and he continue to distribute postal deliveries which too may be the cause for spread of the virus in the area.
Meanwhile DC Kishtwar Ashok Sharma along with ADC Kishtwar Indeerjet Singh Parihar also visited the Palmar area to inspect the implementation of order pertaining to declaration of micro containment zones. The senior officials also inspect the COVID 19 facilities established in the area.
In another development, DC Kishtwar order for weekly rotation of the employees with 50% staff strength in the office complex beside all the employees were instructed to join the duties only after COVID testing.
