Early Times Report

Jammu, May 13: Feeding a hungry person is nothing less than a virtue. With the Coronavirus pandemic putting up many challenges in front of authorities, feeding the hungry and needy remains a tough one.
Extending a helping hand in such a situation is a Jammu based NGO registered with Government of India and NITI Aayog, “People’s Hut Foundation” that has stepped up to distribute free food packets, sanitizers, masks, and medicines to the needy regardless of their religion and caste. The People’s Hut foundation is currently distributing food packets at the Jammu Vicinity of J&K.
Founded by Dr Rohit Koul and Vikas Pandita, the NGO has around 200 volunteers that have been working tirelessly to provide food to the hungry and essentials amid the pandemic in all corners of Jammu. Apart from providing cooked meals to the Covid 19 patients and their families, they also provide ration to people who can cook food at their homes. Since 1st April till date the team of People's Hut Foundation has distributed around 4000 meals, starting from 50 meals to around 200 meals per day.
The NGO has made a relief force under the name “PHF Covid Relief Force” in which the team members and volunteers are distributing food and other essentials at the doorsteps of covid patients and their families.
While talking to the media Dr. Rohit Koul Founder Director and CEO of the foundation said We have only one goal, to make sure people do not have to worry about food and medical essentials during this pandemic as Health is an integral part of their Right to Life and we just want to ensure that they do not need to compromise on that.
