Online poem competition organized

Jammu, May 13: To encourage the self expression and creativity of the cadets, 1st J&K NCC Girls Battalion Srinagar, GCW Udhampur organized online poem competition 0n 12-05-2021 in which NCC Cadets of the college actively participated and presented their self composed poems before the jury members on the theme “Save the Earth-No use of plastic”.
The competition was judged by Prof. Dr. A.K Raina, HOD Hindi & Prof. Dr.Tania Akhtar, HOD English of GCW Udhampur. Jury members declared the winners on the basis of their presentation and contents of the Poems. The first position bagged by Cadet Eknoor Kour, 2nd Position was shared by Cadet Shilpi Kour and Cadet Kiran Bhatyal, 3rd position bagged by Cadet Piyush Sharma and consolation prized bagged by Cadet Pallavi Sharma and accordingly E-certificates being issued to the winners.
Prof. Meenu Mahajan- Principal of GCW Udhampur appreciated the efforts of the cadets and encouraged them to participate in such activities frequently and also congratulated all the winners. Moreover she also emphasized the importance of the topic “Save the Earth- No use of Plastic”, especially in view of ongoing pandemic and other environmental issues. The entire event was coordinated by Prof Shallu Jasrotia, Associate NCC officer of the college.
