Alternative medicines can help boost immunity: Kavinder

JAMMU, May 19: Senior BJP leader and former deputy chief minister Kavinder Gupta on Wednesday said that research has proved that Indian traditional medicine systems possess miraculous power to heal and ensure wellness in altogether different ways in comparison to allopathic medicines and can be of great help during crises like COVID-19.
The former Deputy Chief Minister said this during an Ayush Medical Camp held here at Ward No 46, Sanjay Nagar.
The BJP stalwart said that traditional medicines in the Indian sub-continent serve multi pronged objectives including enhancement of health indicators, prevention of diseases, promotion of healthy lifestyles, training in preparation of home remedies for common ailments, promotion of yoga, meditation and nature cure, etc. He said that endeavours of the Ayush Ministry have proved that the medicines prescribed under its realms have given wonderful results especially in context with immunity boosting. He said that the corona pandemic has taught each and every Indian to once again take refuge under the traditional medicines which are better known as alternative medicines because these have no side effects and can be of great help in boosting immunity.
Kavinder Gupta said that healthcare is the right of every individual but lack of quality infrastructure, dearth of qualified medical functionaries, and non-access to basic medicines and medical facilities due to 70 years of misrule of the successive governments headed by Congress and other parties has lead to this exigency that today PM Narendra Modi has to work overtime to create mere basic edifice for fighting coronavirus.
On the occasion, Kavinder Gupta also provided medicines to about 400 families who attended the Ayush Camp. He also praised the organizers of the camp for ensuring failsafe arrangements to maintain social distancing.
Others who were present include Sunil Prajapati, Rajesh Dogra, Corporator Raj Kumar, Narender Gupta Koki, Tarun Kumar, Naresh Tarkhan, Sahil Mahajan, Shashi Verma and Gurmukh Singh Pappi.
