DSEJ reviews provision of online classes with school heads, CEOs in virtual meeting

JAMMU, May 19: Director School Education Jammu Dr. Ravi Shankar Sharma, today, chaired an online review meeting that was attended by all the Chief Education Officers, Principals and other Heads of the Institutions of Jammu division to discuss various pressing issues related to online classes, Adharshila, ICT Laboratories in schools, scholarship for students, basic amenities such as drinking water and toilets for students in schools etc.
Dr. Ravi Shankar Sharma was very particular about accuracy in entering data on UDISE PLUS and Adarshshila considering the significance it assumes in light of the fact that this data serves as the basis for impactful planning and effective decision making at all levels.
He directed all the Chief Education Officers to ensure that students are reached thorough online classes so that there is no further loss of studies during these pandemic times. As the schools are closed, the opportunity can be used for facelifting the school buildings, taking into account the suggested colour scheme and other guidelines already issued, he added.
Dr. Ravi Shankar Sharma stressed on the fact that government schools have better infrastructure and staff as compared to most of the private schools which should ensure a successful enrollment drive and maximum out of school children should be brought under the umbrella of Government schools.
He further directed the Chief Education Officers to ensure that the available funds are used properly and judicialy, without letting any amount to lapse. CEOs, ZEOs and HOIs were asked to coordinate with the engineering wing while keeping track of all the ongoing works under various schemes viz Capex works, Samagra works etc.
He further extended his gratitude towards Mr. Danish Aziz, Education Specialist, UNICEF for providing the technical support in the smooth conduct of the meeting. The meeting was coordinated by Mr. Romesh Sharma and Dr. Surinder, while Mr Sohail provided the technical support.
