Mayor distributes ration to needy people

JAMMU, May 20: In view of the prevailing situation arisen due to outbreak of COVID-19, Chander Mohan Gupta Gupta, Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) along with Sunita Koul Councilor of Ward No 4 distributed dry ration among the needy and downtrodden families residing at Pacca Danga, Moti Bazaar and its adjoining areas.
Speaking on the occasion, the Mayor said that due to continuous lockdowns imposed by the govt the persons who are daily earners are facing great hardships and unable to feed their families.
He appealed to all the social organizations as well as eminent citizens of Jammu to come forward for the noble cause to provide food and other essential commodities to the needy, poor and daily wagers residing in their surrounding during this tough time. Mayor in presence of Purnima Sharma, Deputy Mayor, Narinder Singh Jamwal Chairman Public Health and Sanitation Standing Committee, Thakur Narayan Singh Jamwal, senior BJP leader, Neeraj Anand President Chamber of Traders Federation Jammu and its other representatives including Shiv Kumar Gupta and Tushar Mahajan in collaboration with Dabur Pvt Limited of India also distributed fruit juice items to the Safaikaramcharis of Ward No 7 and 15 at Town Hall Jammu.
Later Mayor along with Kapil Singh Chib, Councilor of Ward No 64 also visited SMGS Hospital Shalamar Jammu and started a blood donation camp at Blood Bank of the hospital.
This special blood donation camp was organized by Arun Dev Singh president and Kapil Singh Mahamantri of BJYM, Abhishek Salathia, Atul Sharma, Chetan Wanchoo and other Yuva Morcha leaders.
