Sources told Early Times that this lockdown has become an opportunity for many to mint money who have been executing various development works of PWD, RDD in violation of norms. “Several small works amounting approximately Rs 20 lakh are being executed just as an eyewash as only little amount is being spent and their payments are being released in connivance of the concerning department,” they alleged. Locals have appealed the Lieutenant Governor to take note of the matter and urged him to issue an order to stop execution of development works going on across the Poonch district immediately so that some vested interest could not take benefit of the lockdown.
