GHSS Khour: Principal’s salary withheld, other staffers suffer
Why we are being victimized despite performing our duties properly, ask teachers
5/25/2021 12:16:48 AM
Early Times Report

Jammu, May 23: Staff of Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) without salary as salary bills for the month have not been submitted in the Treasury yet.
Sources informed Early Times that salary of the School Principal has been withheld by Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Khour, and he is not producing the salary bills for other staff members.
“At least half a dozen staffers of the school along with their respective family’s members are COVID positive. The staff members suffering of COVID are in great need of money for their treatments. The higher authorities of the school Education Department without any further delay should immediately release our salary”, said a COVID positive staffer of GHSS Khour.
“We got our salary for the month of March in the third week of April, and now we are waiting for April 's salary. Last time for March month’s salary we took the matter to the Directorate of School Education (DSE) Jammu. And after the intervention of higher authorities our salary was released.
Now again the same thing is being repeated”, he said.
“All the staff members of GHSS Khour are fed up with the behavior of the school principal. Government should take timely action to mitigate the sufferings of the staffers,” a staff member said, adding that the directorate has been apprised about the delay in release of the salary and also about the health of staffers, who have been suffering with the COVID.
"The SDM stopped the salary of Principal GHSS Khour Ajay Kumar Sharma's for his unauthorized absence. Why we are being victimized for properly doing our job?,” the staffers asked.
Despite repeated attempts DSE Jammu Dr Ravi Shankar Sharma did not pick up the phone for his comments over the issue.
