DIG chairs Police Darbar at DPL Ramban
Hands over scooties to women help desk of all police stations

RAMBAN, May 24: Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, Doda- Kishtwar-Ramban, Range, Udhay Bhaskar Billa, presided over a police darbar and listened to the issues of police personnel at District Police Lines, Ramban, here today. The Darbar marked the first official visit of DIG, DKR to district Ramban after his joining.
Senior Superintendent Police, PD Nitya; Additional Superintendent Police, Rajini Sharma, Dy. SP, DAR, SDPOs, Gool and Banihal, besides other senior officers were also present on the occasion.
The DIG, after giving a patient hearing to the issues raised by police personnel and officials, assured to address all the issues at the earliest. Issues related to transfer, promotion and rewards etc will be addressed on priority, he said.
The DIG appreciated the role of Ramban police in containing the spread of this pandemic and urged the Jawans to follow the SOPs, while performing their duties. He further exhorted them to be firm and polite to the public while enforcing the lockdown in the areas of their jurisdiction.
Meanwhile, the DIG handed over scooties to all the police stations to facilitate the women help desks.
“The initiative of the police to provide these bikes to police stations aims at to curb the crimes against the women and increase the outreach of police to women living in distant areas,” the DIG said on the occasion.
Earlier, SSP gave a detailed briefing to DIG about functioning of police department, challenges, developmental activities, demography and topography of the district besides preparedness and measures being taken to contain spread of second wave COVID-19 in the district.
At the culmination of darbar, the SSP Ramban expressed her gratitude to DIG for sparing his valuable time and encouraging the jawans amidst these tough times.
