CLUJ holds online session on stress management, mental well-being

JAMMU, May 24: Department of Dean Students Welfare, Cluster University of Jammu (CLUJ) organized a Virtual Awareness Interactive Session on Stress Management and Mental Well being for the student and teaching fraternity dedicated to the theme, Azaadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav. The interactive deliberations aimed to bring together key stakeholders to spread awareness among students and teaching fraternity in response to the Covid-19 outbreak and bring greater understanding, helping them to stay informed and healthy thereby answering all related questions with regard to their well-being. About 150 students and teaching faculty from Constituent Colleges, PGI Schools of CLUJ and other colleges participated in the event. Prof. Bechan Lal, Vice Chancellor, Cluster University of Jammu inaugurated the event exhorting that in these unprecedented times the counselling of experts can motivate our learners towards handling stress and managing time in a productive manner.
Dr. Chand Trehan, Director CARE, North Eminent Free Lance Psychological counsellor and Dr Monica Langeh, Emergency Physician at Max HealthCare New Delhi were the Key note speakers. Dr. Twinkle Suri, Dean Students Welfare CLUJ formally welcomed the participants and asserted that we all need to follow the guidelines of social distancing and hygiene to effectively deal with the disease but at the same time, in addition to the vaccine of Covishield or Covaxin which create antibodies, the voice vaccine of friendship and video calling our dear ones also acts as an antibody in these turbulent times. Dr Trehan in her illuminating deliberations exhorted the young learners to face the challenge of Covid-19 pandemic by following the 3 mantra solution- Mindfulness, staying positive and having faith in God. Dr Monika Langeh, dwelt in detail about altered daily routines, financial pressures and social isolation brought by the Covid-19 pandemic. The programme was coordinated by Dr Revika Arora, Cultural Coordinator CLUJ who also gave a formal vote of thanks.
Dr. Rakesh Gupta from GGM Science College, Dr. Kuldeep Raina, Cultural Coordinator were the tech hosts, and Assistant Deans, Dr. Maansi Sharma, Prof. Sudesh Kumar, Dr Javed and Prof. Shamim Rather were instrumental in organizing the event.
