Early Times Report

Jammu, May 27: A delegation of Ward 56 and 23 called on Deepak Gupta, leader PFJ on the problems they are facing due to lack of communication about the government order amongst the common Public.
Delegation led by a local shopkeeper of ward 56 and ward 23 said that they don’t disobey any guidelines of the government but when they are not communicated well about their area being containment zone, they are arrested and FIR is lodged against them.
Ignorance of Law is no excuse but during Covid-19 when multiple notification of government is issued regularly how can a common man understand about which notification shall apply to their area.
Such incidents of arrests have been witnessing across Jammu, where police department is acting like violation of Sec.144 is equivalent to murder, and are extending harassment to common public. Deepak appealed to the SSP Jammu that warning must be given to the first time violators of Sec.144 under during this pandemic as multiple notifications in which some are contradictory to each other are not easily understood by locals.
He also appealed all the SHO to act on humanitarian grounds and not on the word of law during this pandemic for small business owners and street vendors.
