Following 4352 fresh recoveries COVID-19 recovery rate in JK reaches 83.66%, 2769 new cases

SRINAGAR, May 27: As 4,352 COVID-19 affected people recovered in the past 24 hours or so the COVID-19 recovery rate in Jammu & Kashmir reached 83.66 percent. The union territory reported 2,769 new cases following which the total number of positive cases reached 2, 81,628; death toll reached 3,739 following 37 fresh deaths.
Jammu district reported 384 cases followed by Srinagar district 377 cases, Baramulla district 260 cases, Kupwara district 217 cases, Anantnag district 205 cases, Pulwama district 196 cases, Budgam district 195 cases, Kulgam district 146 cases, Reasi district 102 cases, Ganderbal district 96 cases, Rajouri district 95 cases, Doda district 88 cases, Bandipora and Ramban districts 78 cases each, Udhampur district 63 cases, Kathua district 50 cases, Poonch district 47 cases, Shopian and Samba districts 35 cases each and Kishtwar district 22 cases.
Jammu district reported 10 fresh Corona Virus deaths followed by Rajouri district six deaths, Srinagar, Kathua and Kulgam, districts four deaths each, Samba and Budgam districts two deaths each and Poonch, Ramban, Baramulla, Anantnag & Bandipora districts one death each.
The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 2,769 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 964 from Jammu division and 1,805 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 2, 81,628. Also 37 COVID-19 deaths have been reported, 24 from Jammu division and 13 from Kashmir division.
Moreover, 4,352 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 1,760 from Jammu division and 2,592 from Kashmir division. Out of 2, 81,628 positive cases, 42,272 are active positive, 2, 35,617 have recovered and 3,739 have died; 1,808 in Jammu division and 1,931 in Kashmir division.
Out of 84, 03,522 test results available, 81, 21,894 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 20, 58,592 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 78,768 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 42,272 in isolation and 1, 43,767 in home surveillance. Besides, 17, 90,046 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 63,825 positive cases, 5,450 active positive, 57,620 recovered, 755 deaths; Baramulla has 20,695 positive cases, 3,089 active positive, 17,357 recovered, 249 deaths; Budgam has 19,553 positive cases, 3,159 active positive, 16,223 recovered, 171 deaths; Anantnag has 13,920 positive cases, 3,960 active positive, 9,803 recovered, 157 deaths; Pulwama has 12,518 positive cases, 2,207 active positive, 10,150 recovered, 161 deaths.
“Kupwara has 11,348 positive cases, 1,911 active positive, 9,299 recovered, 138 deaths; Kulgam has 9,531 positive cases, 2,200 active positive, 7,237 recovered, 94 deaths; Ganderbal has 8,288 positive cases, 1,251 active positive, 6,970 recovered, 67 deaths; Bandipora has 8,209 positive cases, 981 active positive, 7,143 recovered, 85 deaths and Shopian has 5,165 positive cases, 1,160 active positive, 3,951 recovered, 54 deaths,” reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 49,395 positive cases, 6,631 active positive, 41,751 recovered, 1013 deaths; Udhampur has 10,366 positive cases, 924 active positive, 9,326 recovered, 116 deaths; Rajouri has 9,379 positive cases, 2,536 active positive, 6,674 recovered, 169 deaths; Kathua has 8,584 positive cases, 852 active positive, 7,605 recovered, 127 deaths; Samba has 6,606 positive cases, 1,979 active positive, 4,522 recovered, 105 deaths.
“Doda has 5,434 positive cases, 1,178 active positive, 4,170 recovered, 86 deaths; Reasi has 5,125 positive cases, 584 active positive, 4,506 recovered, 35 deaths; Poonch has 4,947 positive cases, 922 active positive, 3,948 recovered, 77 deaths; Ramban has 4,843 positive cases, 1,017 active positive, 3,777 recovered, 49 deaths and Kishtwar has 3,897 positive cases, 281 active positive, 3,585 recovered, 31 deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 2, 81,628 positive cases, 21,446 have been reported as travelers.
The bulletin has informed the people that the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
