Jammu, May 27: Youth Congress on Thursday sought strict action against Principal Presentation Convent School, Gandhi Nagar under provisions of law for flouting COVID-19 guidelines that allegedly resulted in the death of a staffer and her husband.
In a statement issued here today, Uday Bhanu Chib, president J&K PYC said that the principal of aforesaid school has committed a ‘crime’ by asking her staff to attend to duties despite standing instructions by the government regarding closure of all government and private schools. He alleged that the irresponsible behavior of the head of the Convent School has snatched the parents of a teenage girl as one of school teachers contracted the infection in the school.
The Youth Congress leader said that the authoritarian management has taken two lives as the husband of the deceased teacher also became corona positive and later succumbed to the contagion. He said, “Had the aforesaid principal obeyed the directions of the government, two precious lives would have been saved”.
