Secretary reviews working of J&K Cooperative Housing Corporation Ltd

JAMMU, May 27: Secretary Cooperative Department, Yasha Mudgal, today chaired a meeting to review the working of J&K Cooperative Housing Corporation Limited in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
The meeting was attended by Additional Secretary, Cooperatives Ashok Kumar, Deputy Secretary Cooperatives, Kewal Kumar Sharma, Financial Advisor Cooperatives , Sanjay Kumar, Managing Director, J&K Cooperative Housing Corporation Limited (JKCHL), Bharat Bhushan while Registrar Cooperatives J&K, Shafqat Iqbal participated online.
During the meeting, MD JKCHCL, made a presentation highlighting the achievements and issues concerning the Housing Corporation . He informed that the Housing Corporation has played a vital role in providing affordable houses to its members who represent cross sections of the society.
MD apprised about the overall working and organizational structure of the Corporation highlighting several aspects like membership, share capital, management, status of accounts, development of the housing colonies, mobilization of funds, success stories and projects developed and completed by the society.
He further informed that the JKCHC has also provided loan to the members of Cooperative Societies and individuals for undertaking development and construction of colonies and houses. Around two thousand individual members have availed the loan facility from J&K Co-operative Housing Corporation Limited.
Regarding holding of elections for the societies, Registrar Cooperatives said that the election of some societies under Corporation have been delayed due to Covid 19 pandemic and it shall be ensured that the same shall be conducted at the earliest.
