UDHAMPUR, May 27: Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur Indu Kanwal Chib, today informed that the district administration has so far established 210 Panchayat level isolation centres with all prescribed facilities.
Briefing the media persons about the covid situation in the district she said against 236 Panchayats Covid facility has been created in 210.
These centres are fully equipped with requisite facilities which include 5 beds, medicine, face mask, oxygen concentrator, hygiene food, toilet etc and will be made available for the Covid positive persons in rural areas who lack much space for isolation in Home.
She said that Anganwari workers, Asha workers and PRIs have been involved to oversee the services in these centres.
Giving details about the present covid scenario in the district, she said rural areas have higher positive rate as compared to urban and sub urban areas.
In rural areas most of the people live together in small houses comprising one or two rooms and share common amenities which has led to higher positivity rate there.
She further said that the concerned Asha worker will provide daily report to the concerned BMO, Block Anganwari Coordinator about the potential positive cases. In case of any emergency the Administration will also provide ambulance service to the patient. She further said that this is a very big achievement of the government with the PRIs playing vital role in the establishment of Covid Care Centres.
The district administration, she said, is also going to start a telemedicine facility in the district hospital Udhampur through which people can seek medical consultation from reputed doctors, while sitting at home as it would help to save their time and money. She said that the trial of this service is going on and it will start soon. A meeting in this regard will be conducted with the concerned Panchayat members for seeking their cooperation in facilitating the access of the facility to maximum people.
Meanwhile, the DC said that the district is witnessing gradual decline in the positivity rate it has become possible only with the collective efforts and hard work of all.
She further said that though the positivity rate is decreasing, but we need to be vigilant and keep following SOPs.
