DLSA Reasi holds legal awareness webinar on ‘Right to life and Personal liberty’

REASI, May 28: The District Legal Service Authority, Reasi, today organised a Legal Awareness Webinar themed Right to life and Personal liberty under Article 21 of the Constitution of India.
The online event was held under the guidance and supervision of R.N.Wattal, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, while Higher Secondary Schools of Reasi, Katra, Pouni, Mahore and Dharmari collaborated.
Panel Advocate, P D Singh, was the Resource Person, while Advocate, Ajay Salaria acted as a Moderator in the said Webinar. The Principals, Faculty Members and the Students of all the above said Hr. Sec. Schools and PLVs of District Reasi attended this Online programme. The Resource person threw light on the scope of Article 21 of the Constitution of India.
Secretary, District Legal Service Authority, Reasi, Rekha Kapoor Nischal, also spoke on the broader interpretation of the expressions right to life and Personal Liberty as envisaged under Article 21of the Constitution of India. The main objective of organising this Online programme was to aware the participants about the Expanding Horizons of Article 21 of the Constitution of India, as interpreted by the Supreme Court of India from time to time particularly the Maneka Gandhi’s case and also what is the difference between the expressions Due process of law and Procedure established by law”.
An interactive session was also held between the students of all the Higher Secondary Schools of District Reasi and Secretary, District Legal Service Authority, Reasi and the students namely Sumit Raina and Ruchi Rajput from both Govt. Higher Secondary Schools, Katra (Boys and Girls) and Sonam Verma from Govt. Girls Hr. Sec School, Reasi also spoke on the occasion.
