Annual Mindhal yatra postponed

Jammu, May 28: Daljeet Singh Manhas, president, Aadi Shakti Devi Chandike Sevak Sanstha (ASDCSS) Blassu, Doda J&K, informed that in view of COVID SOPs the district administration Chamba and Sub Divisional Administration Killar, Pangi district Chamba, HP has shown inability to grant permission to conduct 2021 Mindhal Yatra.
He informed that in response to the communication No. ASDCSS/2021/ 01- 03 dated: 19-05-202 of ASDCSS, the Sub Divisional. Magistrate, Killar vide his office letter No. PNG-SDO (C) -Misc.-2020-21-620 dated: 21-05-2021 giving references of various guide lines has conveyed that “ All religious gatherings and other congregations are completely banned in the district and there will be a total ban on entry of general public at large in the places of religious worships w.e.f 23-04-2021 till further orders”.
He said the letter further reads “there shall be corona curfew in the state w.e.f 07-05-2021 and further extended wide various orders & section 144 has been imposed in the state of HP and during the curfew period assembly of more than five people shall be treated as unlawful”.
Therefore, in emergent circumstances of COVID 19 pandemic and orders issued from Govt. of HP and District Administration Chamba time to time, permission to conduct Annual Mindhal Yatra 2021 can’t be granted in the wake of COVID 19 in wider public interest.
Prof. Manhas, appealed all devotees of Maa Chandi in general and Maa Sevaks who make Bhandara (Langar) & other arrangements in particular to wait for Government directions in this regard. He regretted for the disappointment spread among the devotees with the postponement of Yatra.
However, he appealed the Government to issue SOP/ Advisory / guidelines based permission to perform religious activities so as to protect the people “Right to Freedom of Religion” provided in the constitution of India.
