Free food distributed to needy people

Jammu, May 28: A Covid support group formed by the employees of NHPC Regional Office, Jammu, for discharging their duty towards humanity is providing free food to the people affected by the Covid pandemic within 3.5 KM of railway station.
In addition to above, the group today distributed food packets to patients and their attendants at SMGS Hospital, Shalamar, Jammu. Yesterday the group distributed food packets to the needy people at the Jammu railway station / railway chowk.
Rajan Kumar, Head, NHPC Regional Office, Jammu said that the main objective of the group is to provide timely relief to the people suffering from this pandemic and the funds for the same have been arranged through contribution by the group members. He said NHPC CMD A K Singh is very humanitarian and he always directs the employees to help the needy. NHPC Management as well as NHPC employees are always on forefront to help the society in the hour of need.
He also said that lunch and dinner being arranged by the group for Covid patients living within a 3.5 km radius of Jammu Tawi Rail Head has been extended to 5 KM. If any Covid patients need lunch and dinner, they can contact on these mobile numbers- 9717476978 / 9419129868 / 9419141451.
