Dogra Sahayata Kendra flags off ambulance services for patients, free bus service for corona warriors on duty

Jammu, May 28: Gulchain Singh Charak, President Dogra Sadar Sabha and chairman of Dogra Sahayata Kendra, along with Shashi Sudhan Sharma, Principal Medical College, Jammu today, flagged off the ambulance services for patients, and free bus service for corona warriors on duty by the Dogra Sahayata Kendra, Jammu.
Speaking to the newsmen present, Charak said that these services were being provided as a part of its efforts to help in the fight against the pandemic by the Dogra Sahayata Kendra which was an initiative of the Dogra Sadar Sabha, J&K, in collaboration with the Laxmi Narian Mandir Management Trust, Gandhinagar, Jammu, and the Dogra Educational Trust, Bari Brahmana, Jammu.
He said that the services of the Ambulance provided by the Dogra Sahayata Kendra will be available from 8 am to 8 pm on all days of the week and besides remaining on call for the health authorities, the service can also be availed by residents of Jammu city for carrying patients within the Municipal limits, by contacting the Dogra Sahayata Kendra.
Charak further disclosed that the free bus service for corona warriors on duty will also operate on all days of the week for transportation of staff of Government Medical College, Jammu, belonging to the Bishnah area. He said that the bus will provide pick and drop facility, with proper social distancing, from and to the designated points so that they do not face any difficulty in attending duties as per the round the clock shifts in Medical College Hospital.
Shashi Sudhan Sharma, Principal Medical College, Jammu, while thanking Charak for the numerous initiatives being taken by Dogra Sahayata Kendra, emphasized that the role of the civil society was invaluable in strengthening the hands of the official health institutions in their efforts to bring the pandemic under control.
On the occasion, a cheque for Rs 1.1 lacs was also presented by Samardev Singh Charak, Secretary, Dogra Educational Trust, Bari Brahmana, Jammu to Col (Retd) Karan Singh Jamwal, convener of the Finance Committee of Dogra Sahayata Kendra as donation for meeting the expenses on account of various activities taken up by the Dogra Sahayata Kendra in the fight against the pandemic. Amongst others who were present included Ajay Khajuria, Col. (Retd) Karan Singh Jamwal, Dharmendra, Kailash Thakur, SC Rekhi, Rajesh Gupta, Dinesh Chauhan, Gambhir Dev Singh, I/C Youth Wing DSS, Samar Dev Singh, Secretary, Dogra Educational Trust, Maj. Gen. (Retd) Sunita Kapoor, Purshottma Sadhotra, Uma Katal, Syed Amanat Ali, Janak Khajuria and Suresh Sharma.
