Transport Commissioner visits special Covid-19 vaccination centres for drivers at Udhampur

Udhampur, May 28: To monitor and supervise the vaccination process for drivers/ conductors, the Transport Comissioner J&K Sh. Pardeep Kumar today visited the vaccination centres set up for drivers and conductors at Udhampur. He was accompanied by Additional Transport Commissioner Raman Kesar, additional secretary Road Safety Council Paramveer Singh and was assisted by ARTO Udhampur Jugal Kishore Sharma, MVI Sunil Sharma and other officials of transport department udhampur. The team visited Sansar palace Udhampur set for the purpose and interacted with the representatives of driver community motivating them to take advantage of ongoing inoculation drive against covid-19 and get themselves vaccinated. Pardeep Kumar motivated all other stakeholders for putting up their best efforts for mass vaccination drive as more than 500 drivers are being vaccinated daily at Udhampur, Chenani and Ramnagar centres while keeping all covid-19 protocols in place. He further directed ARTO Udhampur and team to mobilise all targeted group by creating awareness among them and facilitating them in every manner to take vaccines at ease. He further added that the Govt has prioritised the drivers and conductors keeping in view their vulnerability to the disease due to nature of their work and it should be ensured that every member should avail the opportunity. The vaccination program he added will continue and will sensitise the targeted group about the best practices to adapt in view of prevailing disease.
