SRINAGAR, May 31: Jammu & Kashmir saw a dip in fresh COVID-19 infections with 1,525 new cases of the virus being reported in the past 24 hours following which the total number of positive cases reached 2, 90,465. With 37 fresh deaths the death toll due to the virus reached 3,907.
Jammu district reported 278 cases followed by Srinagar district 253 cases, Kupwara district 181 cases, Budgam district 121 cases, Baramulla district 102 cases, Anantnag district 88 cases, Pulwama district 77 cases, Kulgam district 65 cases, Doda district 64 cases, Ganderbal district 46 cases, Rajouri district 40 cases, Ramban district 36 cases, Bandipora district 35 cases, Shopian district 32 cases, Poonch district 29 cases, Udhampur district 25 cases, Reasi district 20 cases, Kishtwar district 14 cases, Kathua district 13 cases and Samba district six cases.
Jammu district 12 fresh Corona Virus deaths followed by Srinagar district five deaths, Pulwama and Kulgam districts three deaths each, Udhampur, Kathua, Ramban, Baramulla and Budgam districts two deaths each and Rajouri, Doda, Bandipora & Ganderbal districts one death each.
The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 1,525 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 525 from Jammu division and 1,000 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 2, 90,465. Also 37 COVID-19 deaths have been reported, 20 from Jammu division and 17 from Kashmir division.
Moreover, 4,070 more COVID-19 patients have been recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 1,801 from Jammu division and 2,269 from Kashmir division. Out of 2, 90,465 positive cases, 35,095 are active positive, 2, 51,463 have recovered and 3,907 have died; 1,908 in Jammu division and 1,999 in Kashmir division.
Out of 85, 67,159 test results available, 82, 76,694 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 20, 91,937 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 80,126 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 35,095 in isolation and 1, 46,207 in home surveillance. Besides, 18, 26,602 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 65,163 positive cases, 4,348 active positive, 60,044 recovered, 771 deaths; Baramulla has 21,327 positive cases, 2,576 active positive, 18,491 recovered, 260 deaths; Budgam has 20,236 positive cases, 2,232 active positive, 17,825 recovered, 179 deaths; Anantnag has 14,553 positive cases, 3,797 active positive, 10,595 recovered, 161 deaths; Pulwama has 13,056 positive cases, 2,213 active positive, 10,674 recovered, 169 deaths.
“Kupwara has 12,037 positive cases, 1,864 active positive, 10,031 recovered, 142 deaths; Kulgam has 9,877 positive cases, 1,664 active positive, 8,111 recovered, 102 deaths; Ganderbal has 8,744 positive cases, 1,277 active positive, 7,398 recovered, 69 deaths; Bandipora has 8,437 positive cases, 898 active positive, 7,448 recovered, 91 deaths and Shopian has 5,308 positive cases, 1,165 active positive, 4,088 recovered, 55 deaths,” reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 50,675 positive cases, 5,617 active positive, 43,991 recovered, 1067 deaths; Udhampur has 10,587 positive cases, 686 active positive, 9,777 recovered, 124 deaths; Rajouri has 9,678 positive cases, 1,472 active positive, 8,022 recovered, 184 deaths; Kathua has 8,755 positive cases, 480 active positive, 8,143 recovered, 132 deaths; Samba has 6,731 positive cases, 1,237 active positive, 5,383 recovered, 111 deaths.
“Doda has 5,711 positive cases, 1,136 active positive, 4,486 recovered, 89 deaths; Reasi has 5,306 positive cases, 485 active positive, 4,785 recovered, 36 deaths; Poonch has 5,207 positive cases, 866 active positive, 4,263 recovered, 78 deaths; Ramban has 5,088 positive cases, 836 active positive, 4,199 recovered, 53 deaths and Kishtwar has 3,989 positive cases, 246 active positive, 3,709 recovered, 34 deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 2, 90,465 positive cases, 21,570 have been reported as travelers.
The bulletin has informed the people that the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
