Mayor, others kick start various development activities in Jammu city

Jammu, June 8: Continuing his endeavour to drive more development & civic amenities to the citizens of Jammu, Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor alongwith Purnima Sharma Deputy Mayor, Narinder Singh Jamwal Chairman Health & Sanitation Committee JMC today and kick started the construction work of R.C.C retaining wall at Municipal land at Bandhu Rakh near Kunjwani Jammu.
Satish Kumar Langer Executive Engineer, Janak Singh Assistant Executive Engineer, S. Manjot Singh, Junior Engineer, supervisory staff of Engineering Section IV, concerned contractor and other supervisory staff of JMC also accompanied the Mayor.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor said that JMC has already taken up the job of doing proper chain fencing of all the Municipal land at various locations of the city in order to protect the precious land from any type of illegal encroachments and today this much awaited work has been started with an sanctioned amount of Rs. 1.21 Cr. only.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor said that segregation of wastes under the UNDP project, Municipal cattle pond, construction work of toilet complex/bathrooms & other various projects are functioning in about 75 kanals of municipal land situated at this site.
He further told that in the last rainy season due to overflowing of nallah flowing nearby, dirty water enters here and some portion of the land washed away in the rain.
He directed the concerned contractor as well as engineers of JMC to complete the construction of protection wall in the stipulated time frame & by applying best quality & durable building material well before the coming rainy season.
Besides this, Mayor also kick started the construction work in terms of laying of paver tiles in lane no. 10-C & 12 –C at Shiv Nagar Jammu of ward no.33 with an estimated amount of Rs 7.20 lacs.
Ashish Bhasin Assistant Executive Engineer, Susheel Magotra Junior Engineer, Supervisory Staff of Engineering Division II, concerned contractor, Balvinder Kumar, Krishan Verma, Shamsher Singh, Naseeb Raj, Karan Sharma & other prominent inhabitants of the ward also remained present during the tour of the Mayor.
