Maize, paddy thrashers distributed to Panchayats under capex

Jammu, June 12: To empower the Panchyati Raj Institution with the motive to strengthen the farming community focusing the dream of Prime Minister for double the farmer’s income by 2022, today Maize and Paddy threshers were distributed among the various Panchyats of Marh Sub Division in phased manner under the directions of Lt. Governor M.K.Sinha.
Bharat Bhushan Chairman DDC Jammu was the Chief guest of the distribution ceremony held at Zonal Agriculture Office Mishriwala. Dr. A.S.Reen Chief Agriculture Officer, Jammu presided over the function. The Panchyat to whom the machinery distributed are Kot Lower A-Khas, Malpur, Lower Bhalwal and Rajpura. The Sarpanchs who received the machinery free of cost are Rajini Devi, Pawan Sharma, Palvi Verma, Neena Devi respectively.
While distributing the machinery to the PRI members the DDC Chairman felt delighted and lauded the role of Agriculture Department on all fronts especially during COVID-19 Pandemic for shouldering all the responsibilities of farmers in all circumstances, on the occasion Kits of Hybrid Paddy-6444 also distributed among the farmers free of cost as presented by the Byer Company. All the Sarpanchs and Panchas present in the function were very happy for getting these assets to the Panchayats in shape of machinery especially free of cost (i.e 100% ) subsidy. Dr. A.S. Reen in his key note address said that it is just beginning, all other panchayats of Marh Sub Division and Jammu District will get this machinery in phased manner. The U.T Government is committed to empower the farming community by all means Dr. Reen said. While presenting welcome address Dr. Ashwani Kumar Jojra, Sub Divisional Agriculture Officer Marh gave the details of all the activities and the initiatives taken by the Agriculture Department in Sub Division Marh by introducing Hi-tech and modernized machinery and enhancing the rural economy for uplifting the socio economic status of farmers under the kind directions of worthy Director of Agriculture and Farmer’s Welfare Dr. K.K.Sharma Krishi Bhawan Talab Tillo, Jammu.
Dr. Nirmal Prakash Agriculture Extension Officer, Mishriwala conducted all the proceedings of the function and vote of thanks were presented by Vijay Kumar Johar SMS-III Sub Division Marh.
