| DC Ramban calls for effective implementation of Self-employment schemes | | Discusses modalities with CEO KVIB | |  Early Times Report
RAMBAN, Aug 9: Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mussarat Islam today called for effective implementation of self-employment schemes in the district with special focus on agriculture and allied sectors. He was reviewing the performance of Kadhi Village Industry Board in the district here at a meeting convened to discuss the modalities for implementing various beneficiary oriented schemes and promoting agricultural products and innovative farming in the district.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Harbans Sharma, CAO, Farooq Ahmed, CHO, VK Gupta, Divisional Officer KVIB, Tilak Raj, District Officer, KVIB, Naseer Ahmed and several other officers attended the meeting.
The Deputy Commissioner asked the CEO to organize camps to sensitize and register potential beneficiaries for PMEGP and other youth oriented schemes. He asked for circulating the checklist in advance so that applicants can apply easily. The meeting discussed measures for improving implementation of schemes including PMEGP and formulation of farmers' clusters for providing them benefits of various farmers' welfare schemes. The DC assured full cooperation from District Administration in implementing all schemes of KVIB in the district.
The CEO directed the District Officer to ensure preparation of project reports of applicants as per norms. He asked the CAO to share a list of Beekeepers for formulation of farmers' clusters in the district.
He also assured that a training programme would be organized for Beekeepers for promoting this lucrative trade in the district.
He also urged the District Administration to formulate a District Consultative Committee to formulate as well as regulate the functioning of clusters. The CAO apprised the meeting about potential and status of honey production. He said that nearly 400 farmers have started Beekeeping in the district. Later, performance of ALFLA, a Farmer Producers Organization dealing in honey production was also reviewed. |
