2 Hizb terrorists arrested, several OGWs detained in Kishtwar

Kishtwar, Aug 9: In a major success for security forces on terror front, Kishtwar Police along with troops of 11 RR, 17 RR, 26 RR under the ages of 9 Sector Rashtriya Rifle, CID SB/CID (CI) & CRPF managed to arrest two newly recruited Hizb militants from Dachhan area in Kishtwar District.
Deputy Inspector General of Police Doda-Kishtwar-Ramban police range Udhay Basker Billa informed that two youth namely Yasir Hussain S/O Ghulam Rasool R/O Sounder Tehsil Dachhan District Kishtwar & Usman Qadir S/O Ghulam Qadir R/O Tander Tehsil Dachhan District Kishtwar went missing on 05-08-2021 and on 07-08-2021, it was reliably learnt that both have joined terrorist organisation HM with the intention to endanger the integrity/sovereignty of the country.
On this information, a case FIR No. 18/2021 U/S 13/18-B ULA (P) was registered at P/S Dachhan.
DIG DKR said that on 08-08-2021, on a tip-off about their presence in Tander Dachhan area, a Police party led by Devinder Singh Bandral, Dy. SP (Ops) Kishtwar along with Inspector Dilraj Singh, Army 17 RR & CRPF 52 Bn. (CTT) assisted by Addl. SP Kishtwar Rajinder Singh conducted search operation in the area under the overall supervision of SSP Kishtwar Shafqat Hussain. “Both the terrorists were apprehended from Kalaingassu area of Tander Dachhan,” he added.
He said that during search, various arms and ammunition were recovered from their possession added that further search operation in the area is still going on.
Among the recoveries are 15 rounds, one Pakistani pistol, one pouch, UBGL Thrower, 2 rounds of UBGL and letter pad of HM outfit.
Replying to a question on whether the culprits involved behind radicalising and provoking these youths to join terror ranks have been identified, DIG DKR said that the same is being looked into. He warned such elements of strict possible action.
He said that police have been constantly putting its efforts to track down the longest surviving Hizb militant Jahinger Saroori and Riaz Ahmed. “They too will be arrested soon,” he added.
Meanwhile, police detained over a dozen persons including some OGWs from Dachhan with regard to terror recruitment probe.
“The investigation is on — we have picked up some persons for questioning to ascertain their involvement in terror recruitment case— it is premature to comment on the role of the detained persons since the investigation is still at initial stage” said a police official.
However he refused to divulge any details with regard to the third missing youth identified by the sources as Muzamil.
