Police conducts raids against drug peddlers

REASI, Aug 9: District Police Reasi conducted major strike against drug peddlers & illicit liquor distillation as well as its smuggling and arrested one drug peddler and 23 bootleggers.
Police seized Chitta (Heroin) & destroyed more than 4000 litres of Lahan and seized more than 105 litres of Hooch, 106 bottles of illicit distilled liquor in last 24 hours. 23 new case FIR's have been registered in three police stations of district Reasi. Lahan, the raw liquor had the potential of preparing 2000 litres of hooch.
Teams of Police Station Arnas conducted series of raids in Arnas area in which 13 bootleggers are booked under Excise Act for distillation and selling illicit liquor.
The booked accused are Padam Singh son of Mehant Singh resident of Panassa, Prem Singh son of Shiv Ram resident of Nala Panassa, Chamail Singh son of Mehant Singh resident of Panassa, Hardev Singh son of Suraj Singh @Surju resident of Ksiri Jij Bagli, Sukhdev Singh son of Suraj Singh @surju resident of ksiri Jij Bagli, Kartar Singh son of Dewan Chand resident of Upper Matlote, Inder Singh son of Mani Ram resident of Upper Matlote, Girdhari Lal son of Roop Chand resident of Lamsoora No. 2, Sher Singh son of Roop Chand resident of Lamsoora No. 2, Lal Singh son of Basant Ram resident of Thilloo Bagad, Chandu son of Balku resident of Dhanore, Des Raj son of Hari Chand resident of Matah, Krishan Singh @ Billu son of Thakur Dass resident of Sulwa Hunder, seized 104 litres of illicit liquor and more than 4000 litres of lahan was destroyed on the spot. In this regards FIR no 86 to 98/2021 are registered under Excise Act in Police Station Arnas and investigation initiated.
In another incident During surprise naka checking at Sulla area, team of Police Station Reasi intercepted and arrested drug peddler namely Pawan Singh son of Vakil Singh resident of Sherpur and recovered Heroine (Chitta) like substance from his posessesion. In this regard case FIR no. 155/2021 U/S 8, 21 NDPS Act is registered at Police Station Reasi and investigation set in.
Teams of Police Station Katra in three separate incidents intercepted and nabbed three illicit liquor Smugglers namely Balwan Singh son of Budhi Singh resident of Mundhar Kastigarh Doda from Moori Naka, Tariq Hussain son of Mohd Shaffi resident of Kot Bhalwal Jammu from Searli and Ramesh Chander son of Subash Chander resident of Searli Katra from Jhajhar Nala while smuggling liquor in holy Town Katra and recovered 95 bottles of Whisky from their possession. FIR numbers 164, 165 and 166 of 2021 US 48 a, f Excise Act and 188 IPC stand registered at Police Station Katra and investigations initiated.
In another incident of smuggling of liquor to Holy Town Katra, team of Police Station Katra arrested one Sanjay Kumar son of Parkash age 38 yrs Caste Brahman resident of Kanka tehsil & district Reasi and recovered 11 bottles of illicit Liquor from his possession. In this regards FIR no 167 U/S 48 a Excise act, 188 IPC stand registered at Police Station Katra and investigations set in.
Team of Police post Bhambla arrested two accused namely Rajveer Singh son of Ranjeet Singh resident of Godhar tehsil pouni district Reasi, and Mukesh Kumar son of Satpaul resident of Dhar potha nowshera while selling illicit liquor. In this regards case FIR no 55/2021 US 50(a) & 48(f) Excise act got registered in police station Pouni and investigations set in.
Team of Police Station Ransoo on a specific information conducted raid on the house of Nasib singh son of Prithvi Singh resident of w.no. 02 Allay and arrested him while manufacturing illicit liquor, lahan destroyed snd manufacturing apparatus. In this regards Case FIR no 13/21 US 48(e) Excise act has been registered in Police Station Ransoo and investigation started.
Team of Police Station Pouni arrested Karam singh son of Hem Singh resident of Buelian Kharlair tehsil Pouni distt Reasi and recovered 2 litres of illicit liquor and case FIR No 54/2021 US 48(e) Excise Act registered at Police Station Pouni and investigations initiated.
In another incident team of Police post Tote arrested Gaja Ram son of Sarnu resident of Sarotekote (alu) tehsil bhomag district Reasi and recovered 3 lites of illicit liquor from his possession. In this regards FIR no 157/2021 US 48-a Excise Act stands registered at Police Station Reasi and investigations started.
