Sainik School Nagrota celebrates 51st Raising Day

JAMMU, Aug 22: Turning another glorious leaf in history, Sainik School Nagrota celebrated its 51st Raising Day today. It was on this day, the school was inaugurated by the then Defence Minister of India, Late Jagjivan Ram.
On this momentous occasion, BK Singh, Principal Secretary, School Education Department, UT Govt of J&K inaugurated newly constructed Reception Complex and presided over 51st Raising Day Programme as the chief guest. He also launched a new website of the school and presented Golden Jubilee Mementoes to the staff. In his keynote address, the chief guest congratulated all Nagrotians for their achievements during the glorious 50 years of the Sainik School. He also emphasized on the need for 'rote free learning' and developing original thinking amongst the Cadets.
He urged the school staff to make learning interesting and dovetail various features of the National Education Policy into the academic curriculum.
He motivated Cadets and Staff to work hard and extended full support for the betterment of the School.
Maj Gen Sharad Kapoor, YSM, SM Chief of Staff, HQ 16 Corps, Chairman LBA also graced the occasion as guest of honour. He presented epaulettes for the Cadet Appointments, who were present online, as part of the Investiture Ceremony. In his address, the chairman commended the school for upholding the tradition even in these adverse pandemic conditions and congratulated all Nagrotians for their spectacular achievements.
