JTC-SKF dharna enters 324th day

JAMMU, Aug 22: The protest dharna launched by Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) at Jagti township has entered 324th day today.
Addressing the protesters Shadi Lal Pandita president, JTC and SKF said that the migrant relief holders are in a lot of trouble as their monthly cash relief is very low and they are unable to pull on due to sky-rocketing prices of essential commodities.
He reiterated the demand regarding enhancement of cash relief from Rs 13,000 to Rs 25,000 per month. The protestors also demanded Government jobs for unemployed youth and interest -free bank loans for over aged displaced youth .They said that Kashmiri Pandits have suffered a lot of loss of land and property for the last 32 years which should be compensated to each and every property holder /landlord.
They also reiterated the demand for building of townships in Kashmir valley near Baramulla, Srinagar and Anantnag for return and rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits and urged the Government to give political and minority status to Kashmiri Pandits. The JTC and Soan Kashmir Front members appealed to the Lt Governor of J&K UT that a package of 20,000 jobs be announced for unemployed youth of KPs. Out of which 5,000 Class IV posts should be given to unemployed youth who could not continue their higher education after matriculation due to poverty.
They also demanded recruitment of Kashmiri migrant youth on-spot in the police force be conducted in Jagti migrant township and other migrant camps and non camps so that they can also get jobs in the police force.
