Convention of Pahari Tribe held at Rajouri

RAJOURI, Aug 22: A day-long convention of Pahari Tribe held at Conference Hall, Dak Bunglow, Rajouri in which several delegates belonging to Pahari ethnicity from different parts of Rajouri and Poonch showed enthusiastic participation.
All the speakers during the convention in one voice raised the demand for provided the ST status to their tribe which is much geniune issue being ignored by the earlier Governments due to unknown reasons.
They expressed that this time the present regime is lead by a powerful stable government under the Initiative taking Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
They further said that since 1989 almost all Governors and Chief Ministers has recommended to the GOI to grant ST status to the Pahari Tribe.
Delegates added that the every member of the tribe will show remarkable obedience and gratitude to the government for rendering ST status to the the down trodden, economically deprived and the worse hit ethnicity.
After the meeting, the delegates framed a working group based on volunteer participation and claimed to hold such opinion raising programmes in different nooks and corners of Pahari Tribe area.
Those prominent who spoke included Adv Ahsan Mirza, former AAG, Vikrant Sharma, Tazeem Dar, Nagesh Sharma, Sajjad Mirza, Adv Raja Mehmood Khan, Bashir Khan, Adv Altaf Janjua, Adv Gurdev Singh Thakur, Ayub Pehalwan, Muneer Mirza, Harish Bharti, Tasdauq Khan, Karamaat Malik, Sanjeev Mangu, CP Sharma, Jagdish Raj Sharma, Arun Sharma, Khem Raj Sharma, Wasim Mirza, Kewal Sharma, Rashpaul Malla, Som Khajuria, Farook Inqulabi, Tahir Lone, Nadeem Mir, Kundan Sharma, Asif Bhatt, Darbari Sharma, Ramiz Malik, Hazi Sikander, Saqib Malik, Basharat Rather, Syed Jatt, Dr Imzam Khan, Jehangir Alam and several others.
