Reasi Police seizes ganja, charas; 3 arrested

REASI, Aug 22: Reasi Police during surprise naka checking recovered 1.4 Kg Ganja and 800 gms Charas from three drug peddlers.
Team of Reasi Police during surprise naka intercepted one motorcycle bearing registration no. JK-02AQ-2886 on its way from Reasi towards Katra stopped for checking, during checking recovered 800 gms charas like substances from the possession of rider of the motorcycle namely Manzoor Ahmed, son of Mohd. Tuffail of Painthal Tehsil Katra district Reasi. On this case FIR No 181/2021 U/S 8, 20 NDPS Act stand registered at Police Station Katra and accused persons are arrested, motorcycle seized while further investigation for forward and backward linkages is going on to unearth other drug peddlers in the racket.
In another incident team of Police check Post Nomain during routine naka checking intercepted one auto three wheeler bearing registration number JK20A 5501 while on way from Domail towards Katra. On enquiry driver of the auto disclosed his name Arjun Kapoor, son of Ram Kapoor of Matyal Katra and the passenger on the back seat of auto disclosed his name as Rohan Lal, son of Roshan Lal of Bahu Parhi Jammu at present Railway station Katra. On the search, Police recovered 1.4 Kg of Ganja from their posessesion. On this vehicle seized and accused persons arrested and in this regards case FIR No 183/21 US 8,20,25 NDPS ACT stands registered at Police Station Katra and further investigation into the case is going on.
“EK YUDH NASHE KE VIRUDH” is an initiative of SSP Reasi against drug abuse in which community of the town has started participating by sharing valuable information.
Under the drive, Reasi Police registered 117 case FIRs of drug abuse &and illicit liquor against 152 offenders since Shailender took over the charge of SSP Reasi in March 2021.
