J&K reports 166 new Covid cases, one death

SRINAGAR, Aug 28: The Government on Saturday informed that 166 new positive cases of novel Corona virus (COVID-19), 29 from Jammu division and 137 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 324979. Also one Covid death has been reported from Jammu Division.
Moreover, 103 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 36 from Jammu Division and 67 from Kashmir Division.
Besides this, 64.64 percent of the population above the age of 18 years has been vaccinated across Jammu and Kashmir.
The Bulletin also informs that no new confirmed case of Mucormycosis has been reported today, thus the total number of confirmed cases remains 44 in the UT of J&K.
According to the daily Media Bulletin on novel Corona virus (Covid-19), out of 324979 positive cases, 1211 are Active Positive, 319362 have recovered and 4406 have died; 2165 in Jammu division and 2241 in Kashmir division.
The Bulletin further said that out of 13219524 test results available, 12894545 samples have been tested as negative till today.
Till date 3187189 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 7761 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 1211 in isolation and 447866 in home surveillance. Besides, 2726545 persons have completed their surveillance period.
Providing district-wise breakup, the Bulletin said that Srinagar has 72262 positive cases (including 77 cases reported today) with 407 Active Positive, 71021 recovered (including 17 cases recovered today), 834 deaths; Baramulla has 23872 positive cases (including 10 cases reported today) with 93 Active Positive, 23497 recovered (including 05 cases recovered today), 282 deaths; Budgam reported 23143 positive cases (including 16 cases reported today) with 99 active positive cases, 22838 recovered (including 06 cases recovered today), 206 deaths; Pulwama has 15325 positive cases with 44 Active Positive, 15087 recovered and 194 deaths; Kupwara has 14232 positive cases (including 06 cases reported today), 38 Active Positive, 14028 recoveries (including 06 cases recovered today) and 166 deaths; Anantnag district has 16446 positive cases with 38 Active Positive, 16203 recovered and 205 deaths; Bandipora has 9626 positive cases with 43 Active Positive, 9482 recoveries (including 10 cases recovered today) and 101 deaths; Ganderbal has 10115 positive cases (including 08 cases reported today) with 58 Active Positive, 9979 recoveries (including 09 cases recovered today) and 78 deaths; Kulgam has 11410 positive cases (including 04 cases reported today) with 48 Active Positive, 11245 recoveries and 117 deaths while as Shopian has 5597 positive cases with 06 active positive cases, 5533 recoveries and 58 deaths.
Similarly, Jammu has 53005 positive cases (including 02 cases reported today) with 94 active positive cases, 51769 recoveries (including 04 cases recovered today), 1142 deaths; Udhampur has 11380 positive cases with 10 active positive cases, 11233 recoveries (including 01 case recovered today) and 137 deaths; Rajouri has 11091 positive cases (including 03 cases reported today) with 39 active positive, 10817 recoveries (including 06 cases recovered today) and 235 deaths; Doda has 7540 positive cases (including 14 cases reported today) with 90 Active positive, 7321 recovered (including 11 cases recovered today) and 129 deaths; Kathua has 9286 positive cases with 11 active positive cases, 9124 recovered and 151 deaths; Samba has 7136 positive cases with 05 active positive cases, 7011 recoveries and 120 deaths; Kishtwar has 4772 positive cases with 53 Active Positive, 4675 recoveries and 44 deaths; Poonch has 6315 positive cases with 19 active positive, 6199 recoveries and 97 deaths; Ramban has 5987 positive cases with 04 active positive cases, 5916 recoveries and 67 deaths while Reasi has 6439 positive cases with 12 active positive cases, 6384 recoveries and 43 deaths.
According to the bulletin, among the total 324979 positive cases in J&K, 23137 have been reported as travelers while 301842 as others.
The Bulletin said that the breakup represents districts from which the patients have been traced or are ordinarily residing.
The bulletin added that there are 2423 COVID dedicated beds, 2019 Isolation beds with 2005 vacant beds and 404 ICU beds where 401 beds are vacant in Jammu division while there are 3353 COVID dedicated beds, 3074 Isolation beds where 3041 beds are vacant and 279 ICU beds where 253 are vacant beds in Kashmir division. There are a total of 5776 COVID dedicated beds, 5093 Isolation beds with 5046 beds vacant and 683 ICU beds with 654 vacant beds in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Central Government is continuously monitoring the evolving situation of Covid-19 in the Union Territory and is providing all necessary support towards effective containment of the spread of Covid-19 and better clinical management of positive cases.
The government has also started free tele-consultation general OPD services by Specialists/MBBS Doctors for the residents of J&K under National Tele-consultation Service. People can avail these services from Home by registering online on web portal https://esanjeevaniopd.in/. The services are available on Monday to Saturday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. People can also download and install the e-sanjeevani OPD app from Google play store.
