SCERT organizes workshop on pedagogical skills

JAMMU, Aug 28: A three-day capacity building program on "Pedagogical Skills and Learning Outcomes" in Social Sciences at Elementary Level was conducted through virtual mode with effect from 26th August 2021 to 28th August 2021 by "Education in Social Sciences, Humanities and Commerce" Wing, SCERT J&K, Divisional Office Jammu.
The programme was organized on the directions of Principal Secretary to Govt. School Education Department, B.K. Singh IFS, the guidance of Director SCERT J&K, Prof Veena Pandita and the supervision of Surinder Kumar, Joint Director SCERT J&K, Jammu.
The aim and the objective of the program was to familiarize the trainees with new pedagogical approaches and Learning outcomes in the light of NEP 2020 to achieve the objectives of meaningful, integrated and joyful learning.
Earlier, the workshop was inaugurated by the worthy Joint Director SCERT Jammu, Surinder Kumar, who laid emphasis on the importance of such trainings in updating the teaching community with innovative and creative approaches to teaching learning process and also strengthening the psycho motor skills of students in school education curriculum .
Five learned and well trained Resource Persons in the field of Social Sciences viz. Jaswinder Kour, Paawan Vivek, Dr. Mehreen Sheikh, Kanwaljeet Kour and Neeraj Sharma imparted focused training to the participants. The programme was quite informative and interactive wherein the participants from all the 10 districts of Jammu Division freely exchanged their views and also made their respective presentations quite effectively for the benefit of all co-participants.
A total of 48 teachers and masters from all the ten districts of Jammu Division attended the workshop which was coordinated by Dr Meenakshi Chandan, Academic Officer SCERT Jammu under the convenorship of Pawan Gupta Associate Prof. and Head of the wing. Other members from the Wing who worked to accomplish the program successfully comprised Pooja Sharma (Sr AO), Vaishali Rajput (Sr AO), Arun Dutta (AO) & Pratibha Jamwal (Teacher). The technical coordination was provided by Akash Khajuria Yugal Kishore.
The program concluded with the presentation of vote of thanks by Pawan Gupta, I/c CEO/Head Education in Social Sciences, Humanities and Commerce Wing, SCERT J&K Jammu.
