Training programme for investigators on "Safety of Women" concludes

UDHAMPUR, Aug 28: A 5-day long training programme for investigators on "Safety of Women" sponsored by BPR&D New Delhi at S.K Police Academy Udhampur culminated today. Twenty officers of the rank of ASI to Inspector attended the training programme. The course was designed to enhance the knowledge, capacity, skills and aptitude of trainee officers as investigating officers. There were wide ranging deliberations on women safety issues, protection of women from domestic violence, investigation of cases, victim counselling, NHRC guidelines, online crime and abuse on social networking sites etc.
To achieve the objectives of the training programme, experienced guest speakers including Dr Kavita Suri, Director Deptt. of Life Long Learning, University of Jammu, Rahul Pandit, Director IDEO Gram Technology Jammu, Ravel Singh Choudhary- SP, Dy.CO JKAP-8th Bn, Kamal Sharma- CPO, CID Hqrs. J&K, Jagpal Sharma, Inspr, SCRB Jammu, and Rakesh Sharma, Inspr Cyber Police Station Jammu & others have delivered lectures and shared their experience on the related subjects.
In the valediction, SVK Jamwal, SSP, Dy. Director (Outdoor) advised the participants to be sensitive towards women victims, adopting guidelines laid from time to time. He further said the objective of the course is to enhance capacity of the investigating officers. The audience was informed that holding such course is the endeavour of DGP J&K and unrelenting efforts of Director of the Academy. The valediction was attended by Suraj Singh, DySP, A.D (Trainings/R&D), Sunmati Gupta, Dy.SP, A.D (Outdoor) SKPA (Course Director) and Sukhvir Singh, Inspector (Member faculty).
