GDC RS Pura launches two day outreach programme

JAMMU, Aug 28: As part of celebrations of Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav, the Field Outreach Bureau, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Govt. of India, Rajouri in collaboration with Government Degree College, R.S Pura launched two day integrated communication and outreach programme campaign in R.S Pura Block of District Jammu under the chairmanship of Dr. G.S Rakwal, Principal of the college.
The events were coordinated by Dr. Anuradha, Convener, Cultural &Literary Committee and Lt. Shaveta Chowdhary, ANO Girls NCC.
On first day, a number of activities vis focused group discussions, a Discover India quiz based on pre and post-independence era with special emphasis on freedom struggle, life history of freedom fighters were conducted. The quiz master was S. Gurmail Singh, Incharge, the Field Outreach Bureau, Govt. of India, Rajouri. The team A comprising of Cadet Mahima and Cadet Ekta Chib won the first prize whereas Cadet Shali Sharma & Cadet Nisha were runner-up in the quiz competition. Bharat Bhushan, Honourable Chairman, DDC Jammu was the chief guest and Vidya Mottan, Member, DDC was the Guest of Honour. The principal of the college shared the timeline of activities conducted by the college under Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav and also highlighted some issues related with college with DDC chairman for early redressal.
The quiz was followed by Fit India Freedom Run starting from village Chohalla to GDC R S Pura. A total of 25 girls cadets participated in the freedom run. The formal Vote of thanks was presented by S. Gurmail Singh from the Field Outreach Bureau. Among others, Neeraj Verma, Sunil Sharma, Dhanuveer Rathore from the Field Outreach Bureau and faculty of the college were also present.
