| Police foil bovine smuggling bid, 20 bovines rescued | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
KATHUA, Aug 29: In its endeavours and commitment to contain the activities of bovine smuggling within the district, Kathua Police under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua, RC Kotwal foiled bovine smuggling attempt under the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Rajbagh. Police rescuing 20 bovines arrested the accused.
According to reports, a police team of PS Rajbagh led by Insp Bopinder Singh during routine naka checking noticed one suspicious truck bearing Registration number JK-12-A-6454. During checking of aforesaid vehicle 20 bovines were found loaded in it illegally.
In this regard police arrested accused identified as Mohd Yaqoob, S/o Jamaldin R/o Saral, Poonch.
Thereafter Police team rescued bovines, and seized the vehicle involved. In this regard a case under FIR No. 166/2021 U/S 188/IPC, 11PCA has been registered at Police Station Rajbagh and further investigation has been set into motion accordingly
