Early Times Report

Jammu, Aug 29: While the numbers of positive Corona cases have registered a dangerous upward trend during the last one week, the UT government on Sunday said that higher educational institutions can be permitted to commence with limited in-person teaching subject to cent percent vaccination of staff and students and specific permission of concerned Deputy Commissioners (DCs)
During the last three days, positive cases surpassed recoveries but authorities appear to be still in deep slumbers and busy in photo-ops for publicity.
On Sunday 169 positive cases were reported during the 24 hours. 24 new cases were reported from Jammu province and 145 from Kashmir Valley but recoveries were only 103, which is a very dangerous trend.
Similarly, on Saturday total of 166 new positive cases were reported-29 from Jammu and 137 from Valley but recoveries were 103 which were lower than positive cases.
The same was the situation on August 27, Friday out of a total of 166 new positive cases, 44 were reported from Jammu and 122 from Kashmir with just 76 recoveries.
Shockingly despite this dangerous trend, the J&K government has allowed the higher educational institution to start functioning because those at the helm of the affairs are not aware of the ground situation.
As per the government order the higher educational institutions can be permitted to commence with limited in-person teaching subject to 100% vaccination of staff and students and specific permission of concerned Deputy Commissioners. Such institutions, the government said, can organize special vaccination camps in consultation with district administration.
“Other educational institutions can allow attendance of vaccinated staff for administrative purposes.”
The government also ordered that night curfew shall continue to remain in force in all districts from 8 pm to 7 am.”
