Ex DyCM Tara Chand cautions BJP not to test patience of people
8/29/2021 11:55:37 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, Aug 29: Congress today organised a day long workers Convention at Pargwal in Chaamb Constituency which was presided over by senior Congress leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand and was attended by hundreds of people and workers from the area. He demanded early completion of delimitation process and holding of Assembly elections in J&K.
While addressing the workers, former DyCM Tara Chand said, except for emotive slogans, BJP had nothing to offer to the people of Jammu. He asked the BJP to read the writing on the wall as the problems of the people had accumulated in the recent years. He cautioned the BJP not to test the patience of people and be ready for the verdict to be announced by dejected Jammu people in the future Assembly elections in J&K.
Appealing to the party workers he said, we have to prepare for the elections from today itself and move together for the success of our mission to fight against those who have failed to address public issues and aspirations.
Tara Chand said, the BJP government's unreasonable and irrational policies have led to the steep price hike. Petroleum Products are kept under heavy excise duty and VAT.
He said that the prices of essential commodities have increased significantly in the last few months. The government is doing absolutely nothing to lower the prices and give some sort of relief to the people.
Referring to the current situation, Tara Chand said, the situation in the country is different now as the democratic institutions are under the threat. The saner voices are being muzzled by the BJP and its off shoots, which is a matter of serious concern.
Tara Chand further blamed the BJP government for the worsening situation of Jammu and Kashmir exacerbated by the absence of an elected political authority that is local and understand the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He said that it is the high time that the government restores statehood to J&K.
Others who attended the meeting include, Jagatar Singh, Kalidas, Daljeet Singh, Vijay Chib Jagdish Raj Sharma, Madan Lal, Devinder Singh, Santosh Manhas, Bodhraj, office bearers of BCC, DCC, Congress delegates, Sarpanchs, Panchs and others.
