Mayor lays foundation stone of Modern Guashala at Nagrota

JAMMU, Sept 3: Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Chander Mohan Gupta along with Member of Parliament Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha Constituency, Jugal Kishore Sharma in presence of Deputy Mayor, JMC Purnima Sharma and others laid foundation stone of Modern Gaushala/cattle Pound at Village Seri Khurd, Panjgrain, Nagrota Jammu.
Avny Lavasa Commissioner JMC, Narinder Singh Jamwal Chairman Health & Sanitation Committee, Yashpal Sharma Chairman Swachh Bharat Committee, Kuldeep Singh Chib, chairman Social Justice Committee, Dinesh Gupta, Satpal Karlupia, Surinder Sharma, Dr Akshay Sharma and Shama Akhther-Councilors of JMC, Sudhir Bali AC (R), Dr Susheel Sharma Municipal Veterinary Officer, Anil Kumar Gupta Executive Engineer along with other supervisory staff of project Division JMC as well as Parsohotham Dadhichi president Sanatan Dharm Sabha J&K, Raj Kumar Gupta president of Gaushala Ambphalla, Swami Satyamitrananda, Secretary of Bharat Sewa Ashram Jammu Branch along with other prominent inhabitants of Nagrota and its adjoining localities were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor said that this Modern Cattle Pound/ Gaushala will accommodate more than 300 cattle and will have all required modern infrastructure like in-house quarantine/ isolation and OPD facility for providing better health care to the housed animals.
In the Cattle Pound premises, animals will be allowed for open grazing and provision of a sprinkle bath for maintaining proper hygiene will also be kept.
He further informed that to run this project in self sustainable mode, all the waste generated in the Cattle Pound like cow dung/ urine will be processed scientifically for making Vermi compost, Ark & Biogas and to secure the allotted land, boundary wall work by way of chain link fencing equipped with concertina oil and barbed wire upto a length of 2700 Rft has already been completed by the JMC.
The Project Division of JMC also apprised the Mayor and other dignitaries present there that in the first phase of this development work, which includes construction of Cow Shed, Bull Shed, Calf Shed, Isolation & quarantine Shed for Cows & Bulls, Open shed for Cow Dung collection, Shed for storage of feed & fodder, Gatekeeper/ Care taker Hut, Sump Tank & construction of R/Wall along approach road will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 5 crores and remaining proposed structure will be constructed in next phase of project.
