9/3/2021 11:23:04 PM

Early Times Report

Jammu, Sept 3: Bantalab area in city outskirts here has not witnessed any development during the past many years.
The area falls under Ward No. 63 and presents a gloomy look. Lanes and by lanes are in a dilapidated condition while drains are in a very bad shape. “The blacktopping took place in 2014 and since then no work has been carried out. No work has been carried out to repair the drains in the area. These drains get choked whenever it rains,” locals said.
They said, “We face acute shortage of water during summer season.”
The lane no. 6 in Ward No. 63 is in a very bad condition. “The road hasn’t been repaired for the past many years. The tenders have been allotted but work has not commenced,” locals said.
K B Nagar in Ward No. 63 is in a very pathetic condition. “We have been fighting to get this road repaired since 2013. But the road hasn’t be repaired till date. We have approached Governor’s grievance cell also but we are still waiting for this road upto Sharda Mandir to get repaired,” they said, adding, “Even the street lights have not been working. We are facing acute water scarcity. Drains have not been repaired for a long time.”
They said that they are feeling betrayed and cheated.
Councilor of the area Kuldeep Singh Chib said, “Blacktopping will commence after September 15 after the rainy season ends.”
He assured that all the works will be done. “Our ward is spread our 20 kilometres. We have 45 sweepers and two autos for garbage collection. As we keep on getting funds we will keep on doing the work.”
