Free medical camp organized

Jammu, Sept 5: Ayush Department J&K organized a free medical aid camp in collaboration with Bhartiya Yoga Sansthan under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsava.
The camp started with awareness lectures by experts Medical Officers Ayush from Govt. Ayurvedic Hospital, who introduced the audience to relevance of Ayurveda and Yoga in present day’s health scenario.
Dr. Arun Gupta a specialist of Prasuti Tantra and Stree Roga briefed regarding promotive and preventive aspects of AYUSH interventions like Ritucharya, Dincharya, Sadvruta, Panchkarma, Ksharsutra, Garbha samskar and other health promotion services being provided by Ayush J&K at Govt. Ayurvedic Hospital, Jammu and their importance in maintaining combating various prevalent disorders. Dr. Bipan Chander, an Ayurvedic expert introduced the relevance of Good Diet (Ahara), Life style (Vihara) and Vichara in health promotion and role of Yoga in maintaining holistic health. He also emphasized that Yoga and Ayurveda are complementary health philosophies which can be used for providing specialized health care if integrated together.
Yoga enthusiasts sought free consultation provided by the team of experts comprising of Dr. Arun Gupta, Dr. Bipan Chander, Dr. Nidhi, Yoga therapist. In all 168 patients were examined by the team of the doctors. Free Ayush Medicines were also dispensed among the patients. Patients requiring advanced therapeutic interventions were referred to Govt. Ayurvedic Hospital in different departments. The camp was attended by assisted by the paramedical staff Sudhir Singh, and Shafi who rendered their services in the camp.
