JAMMU, Sept 20: First Skill Development Centre, sponsored by We The Humans and Swasthya Evam Shiksha Charitable Trust Delhi, today started in the house of Bimla Devi, wife of Kamal Singh of Kalhota (Kashal) Doda. This is a far flung hilly area that falls in Doda district. Apart from Preety Parihar Secretary, Sonal Kotwal Member of We The Humans, Shazia Begum Sarpanch, Rajeshwar Singh Naib Sarpanch, Social Activist Shakeel Ahmad, local villagers were present on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Preety Parihar Secretary We The Humans Forum for Nature and Mankind said that this is first Skill Development Centre made functional by We The Humans and Swasthya Evam Shiksha Charitable Trust Delhi where females from the village as well as adjoining villages shall get training in cutting, tailoring and designing on nominal monthly charges. Apart from this, the Centre shall be good livelihood opportunity for Bimla Devi. The performance of the Skill Development Centre shall be reviewed from time to time by the Doda team of We The Humans and further expansion of the Centre, involving other trades like handmade medicinal soaps, shall be considered based upon performance of the Centre. |
