Distt Udhampur Open Table Tennis Championship concludes

UDHAMPUR, Oct 1: Three-day long District Udhampur Open Table Tennis Championship organized by District Table Tennis Association Udhampur in collaboration with J&K Sports Council under the aegis of J&K Table Tennis Association concluded here at Indoor Sports Hall Subhash Stadium. Former MLA Balwant Singh Mankotia was the chief guest whereas DySP Surinder Singh Billoria was the guest of honor. Earlier, General Secretary Tarun presented the welcome address. In his address, he appreciated the young talent of District Udhampur. He said that District Table Tennis Association is working continuously to uplift the talent of youngsters and only motive behind to organize the tournament is to channelize the energy of youngsters into positive directions. Around 70 participants from every nook and corner of the district participated in this championship.
Chief Guest on the occasion Balwant Singh Mankotia conveyed his best wishes to all the players and the members of the Association. He handed over the new table of Table Tennis to the Association.
In the final results, (Sub Junior Boys) Archit Mahajan beat Aditya Thapa by 3-2 while in (Junior Boys) Madhav Sharma beat Sourav Sharma by 3-2. In (Junior Girls) Gungun beat Palak Khajuria by 3-2 while in (Senior Boys) Yogeshwar Singh beat Prince Gupta by 3-2.
In (Senior Girls) Ishika Gogna beat Palak Khajuria by 3-2.
Vinod Kumar Baru (President), Tarun General Secretary, Prikshit Khajuria (Treasurer), Akash Sharma Joint Secretary, Sunny Sharma Vice President, Achhat Magotra Executive Member, Navin Sharma (Manager) Subash Stadium, Sanjay Sharma, KG Sharma, Kanav Magotra, Sanjeev Verma, Anish Uppal, President Chamber of Commerce Sham Kalsotra, President Vyapar Mandal Jitendra Vermani, Rahul Magotra, Ankit Sanson and Ashok Sharma were also present. Matches were officiated by Buneet Singh, Ajay Sharma, Rakesh, Sahil Magotra, Raghav Sharma etc. Later, prizes were distributed among winners and runners up.
