10/1/2021 11:33:35 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, Oct 1: Shiv Sena (Bala Saheb Thackeray) Jammu and Kashmir unit today staged a strong protest demanding residents of Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory should get full reservation in government and private sector jobs. It also demanded the immediate confirmation of all the daily wagers besides age relaxation in govt jobs. Under the leadership of party President UT J&K, Manish Sahni, dozens of Shiv Sainiks raised vociferous slogans to highlight the above demands.
In his address to the protestors Manish Sahni urged the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, to issue new recruitment rules containing provisions for reservation in employment to the youth of Jammu and Kashmir in the govt as well as private sector. He also sought regularization of all the daily wagers besides relaxation of upper age limit especially in case of those daily wagers who have not been confirmed and have crossed the upper age limit besides that of the rest in all government jobs.
Sahni said that the Union Territory of Ladakh has given two years relaxation in age limit along with reservation of jobs for local people under Employment Service Recruitment Rules 2021 and the same needs to be emulated for J&K Union Territory.
Sahni accused the central government of playing statistics game to claim that there is improvement in unemployment in Jammu and Kashmir and asserted that unemployment has increased further due to the abrogation of Article 370 and the Corona crisis.
He said that the youth of the Jammu and Kashmir continues to be in despair feeling bleak future, which is a matter of deep concern.
Sahni stated that in terms of unemployment, Jammu and Kashmir is far behind the country's national average, falling in the list of the country's 5 most unemployed states. He asserted that in such a situation some special recruitment policy needs to be implemented.
Prominent among those who were present on the occasion were women wing president, Meenakshi Chhibber; General Secretary, Vikas Bakshi , vice president Sanjeev Kohli, Balwant Singh, Sandeep Bhagat, president Reasi Bhuri Singh, President RS Pura Balvir Singh, president Akhnoor Satish Sharma, Tarsam , Preeti Sharma and many others.
