GDC Billawar organizes national webinar on Gandhian Philosophy

KATHUA, Oct 1: Government Degree College (GDC) Billawar organized national level webinar on “Role and Impact of Gandhian Philosophy in modern era” under the aegis of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ and Shikshit Bharat today.
To celebrate 152nd birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the Cultural Committee in collaboration with Psychological Counselling Cell of GDC Billawar organised One Day National Level Webinar on Gandhian Philosophy in which two keynote speakers and more than 150 participants participated.
In the beginning of the webinar, Dr Shamim Ahmed Bandey, Organizing Secretary, welcomed chief guest Principal Prof Anita Jamwal and the keynote speaker Prof Rakesh Bharti, GDC Jorian and Prof Ashwani Kumar Dubey, Dean SK University Chatarpur (MP) and other dignitaries.
Prof Anita Jamwal in her introductory remarks said, “The Philosophy of Gandhiji is relevant in the present time as well. Gandhiji said a person should practice what he preaches. In other words, the modern youth should do what he says.” Prof Rakesh Bharti motivated the youth to adopt the principle of hard work in life and bring into action the principle of practice what you preach in life. He said Gandhi ji was an apostle of non-violence and freedom movement. The youth should walk on the path of truth and Non-violence.
Dr Shamim Bandey during welcome address said, Mahatma Gandhi was a seeker of truth and the greatest proponent of non-violence.
The programme was conducted by Prof Anil Verma and Dr Pinkey. The vote of thanks was presented by Prof Lekh Raj, HOD Zoology.
