| Suman Gupta’s art work showcases at major show in Delhi | | |

JAMMU, Oct 2: Suman Gupta, an internationally acclaimed magic realist latest art work has been showcased in an ongoing show in Delhi. One of the historical artworks based on the history of Jammu has been a major attraction at this ongoing exhibition ARTISTAGRAM 2021 a major group show of contemporary art, which opens on 1st October in collaboration with Kumwar Viyogi Memorial Trust at Visual Art Gallery of India Habitat Centre has showcased the art works of some of the upcoming and senior artist of India. Suman Gupta art work ‘The tale of a town’ painted in mix media depict a tiger and a goat drinking the water from the same pond while a village folk is resting under the Banyan tree totally unaware about the incident near the pond reflecting the story behind the emergence of this beautiful town of Jammu.
Suman Gupta has been presently working on a major art project to create a series of art works based on the history of Jammu which has been commissioned by a New York based art collector to the versatile artist based on some of the historical narratives like, Raja Jambulochan and the city of Jammu, Origin of city of Jammu on the bank of river Tawi, Temples of Purmandal, Sacred shrine of Maa Vaishno Devi, etc. One of the top Spanish Museum in Barcelona had recently acquired his egg tempera for their permanent collection which was also part of, Figurativas 2019, two of his new works were part of the just concluded major international art project by Andy Warhol Museum, Carnegie science museum, and Gallery Christine Frechard in Pittsburgh in USA. |
