DLSA Reasi holds awareness program on Anti Ragging Laws

REASI, Oct 16: District Legal Services Authority Reasi, in collaboration with Govt. Higher Sec. School Pouni organized an Awareness Program on Anti Ragging Laws, here today.
The event was held in compliance with the Action plan issued by JKLSA under PAN India Awareness and Outreach Campaign and under the guidance and supervision of DLSA Chairman R.N.Watal.
Advocate Tania Saraf and Teacher Higher Sec. School (Boys) Reasi Anita Rani were the resource persons, who discussed in detail about what is ragging and what are the different rules and regulations for its prevention, prohibition and punishment.
They particularly highlighted UGC Regulation on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Institutions. They also shared Anti Ragging Toll free Helpline no. 1800-180-5522 and Anti- Ragging Website i.e. www.antiragging.in and also the Judgments of the Supreme Court on Anti Ragging. Principal Higher Sec. School Pouni also spoke on the occasion.
Secretary Legal Services Authority Reasi Rekha Kapoor Nischal, also addressed the participants on the subject, besides discussing the role of Legal Services Institutions in providing Access to Justice for the poor and rural sections of the society. Panel Advocate Ajay Salalia conducted the proceedings of the program and also conveyed vote of thanks to the participants.
This Awareness program was attended by the faculty members and students of Govt. Higher Sec. School Pouni Reasi. Besides, TLSC Mahore also conducted an Awareness Program on Anti Ragging at Peer Panchal Public School Mahore.
The DLSA Reasi also conducted door to door campaigns and Legal Awareness Programs through PLVs under PAN India Awareness and Outreach Campaign.
