JKTJAC demands 2 months' salary of NPS employees on eve of Diwali | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 31: Jammu Kashmir Teachers' Joint Action Committee (JKTJAC) has demanded immediate release of two months' pending salary of NPS employees of UT of J&K. In a press statement, UT President Vinod Sharma said that NPS employees mostly of Education Department are without salary for last two months and celebrated Navratras and Karva Chouth dry. He appealed the Financial Commissioner to release the funds under head 2071 and clear the pending two months' salary of NPS employees before Diwali so that they may be able to celebrate the festival happily with their families. "Often delay in release of salary of NPS employees is a matter of great concern and the finance department should take the issue seriously and release the funds," he said, adding that it is very unfortunate that these employees are without salary for couple of months even when govt has ordered for the advance payment of salary on Diwali. He further said that if the salary of teachers/employees under NPS is not released on or before November 1, JKTJAC leadership will submit memorandum to the govt through respective District Development Commissioners on November 2 and will also be forced to protest after Diwali if the said salary isn't released before Diwali. He hoped that the Finance Department will take the matter seriously for the welfare of thousands of NPS employees of the UT. |
